Obituary of Joseph Lawrence Hammond, Jr.

Joseph Lawrence Hammond, Jr., age 56, passed away Monday March 24, 2025 at home in Clifton Park, NY. He was born August 25, 1968 in Saratoga, NY. He worked as a carpenter, handyman, landscaper, and construction worker throughout many states and could proudly say he can "build a house from the ground up."

Joe is survived and missed by his devoted wife of 28 years, and partner for over 39 years, Joanne Hammond. As well as his brother Michael Hammond, his daughters Sarah (Leo) Gardner and Margaret Hammond, and his beloved grandchildren Derek Joseph Gardner, Keira Michelle Gardner, Logan Patrick Kelly, Mabel Evelyn Gardner, Connor Hudson Kelly, and Eleanor Hazel Gardner. Joe also leaves behind many other close family members and friends who will miss him greatly and always remember the impact he had on their lives.

Joe is predeceased by his father Joseph Lawrence Hammond, Sr., mother-in-law Helen Orr,  Hazel "Ma" Farr, and his aunts Patricia Hammond and Kathy Farr.

Joe will always be known for his unconditional love for his family, sense of humor, work ethic, and his passion for music and gardening. His favorite days were spent outside in the yard surrounded by his family. He was the type of man to give you the shirt off of his back, and was always the life of the party who made everyone around him laugh.

Joe's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jordan and the Halfmoon Fire Department and EMTs.

A memorial service will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
