Tara Lee Roll Mahoney, 70, of Troy, beloved wife of Alfred E. “Al” Mahoney, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday. April 21, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Faye Young Roll and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

She and Al have been together for 57 years and were just three months shy of celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary.

Tara enjoyed travelling to many destinations over the years, trips to the Racino, spending time with her family, especially on the weekend with her twin sister Toni with whom she shared a special bond.

Tara was of the Episcopalian faith but faithfully worshipped weekly with her husband Al at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh in addition to Trinity Episcopal Church in Lansingburgh.

Beloved wife to Al, devoted sister of Vickie (Vahe) Shahinian, twin Toni Roll, Denise (Larry) Rohenaz, Martin (Karla) Roll, Michael Roll and the late Robert Roll, also survived by several nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 and to her Funeral Service in the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Troy.

Al would like to express his sincere appreciation to the staff at the Samaritan Hospital ICU for their care and compassion.
