Obituary of Naomi L. Thayer

Naomi L. Pearson Thayer, 88, formerly of Moe Rd. in Clifton Park, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Born in Liberty Center, IN, she was the daughter of the late Clinton M. and Ruth I. Bradford Pearson and was a graduate of Liberty Center High School. She married Charles A. “Chuck” Thayer on September 5, 1958 and was his beloved wife of over 66 years until his passing on January 18, 2025.

For nearly 40 years, Mrs. Thayer was self-employed and well known in the Clifton Park Community operating as “Naomi the Seamstress” from her home. She cherished every moment of her lengthy career and being of help to those who she served.

Naomi was gifted in various crafts, from needlepoint to quilting to crocheting to name a few, was a great cook, enjoyed square-dancing in her younger years and was a devout member of Faith Baptist Church in Rexford. She especially loved the times spent with her family and friends.

Devoted mother of Karl (Kim), Steve (late, Tina) and Michael (Kristen) Thayer, cherished grandmother of Steven (Brandee), Nicholas, James, Jordan (Jesse), Hannah, and Sydney Thayer, adored great-grandmother of Gracelynn, Hunter and John. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law and seven siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Calling Hours on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

The Thayer family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all of the staff at Washington Center in Argyle for caring for Naomi, as well as Chuck.
