Obituary of William A. Solimene

William A. “Bill” Solimene, 78, of Speigletown, beloved husband for 48 years of Nancy Dignum Solimene, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

 

Born in Bronx, NY, raised in Pelham, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Masucci Solimene. He was a graduate of Pelham Memorial High School where he was Co-Captain of the football team and Captain of the Wresting and Track & Field teams and Fashion Institute of Technology where he earned his Associates Degree.

 

Bill was a career sales associate with Spector’s Clothing in Albany and Colonie and Kelly Clothes in Latham.

 

He along with his family enjoyed spending summers at Queechy Lake in Canaan, NY. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Parish (formerly St. Bonaventure’s Church) in Speigletown.

 

Beloved husband of Nancy, devoted father of Josephine Solimene Rustin (Jude) and the late Christopher William Solimene, brother of Joseph Solimene (Kathleen) and the late, Louis Solimene (late, Dolores), cherished grandfather of Lily Rustin and Grant Rustin, dear brother-in-law of Carol Dignum, Edward J. Dignum (Melanie), Joanne DeMeo (Tony), Martha Miller (Joseph), James Dignum, Robert Dignum (Mary), Cynthia Weber (John), Michael Dignum (Judy), Jeanne Dignum Birch and Paul Dignum (Nancy), also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. and to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. both at Transfiguration Parish, 50 Hillview Dr., Troy, NY 12182.

 

Interment following the Mass will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

 

The Solimene family would like to offer their grateful appreciation to the ICU and 5th Floor staff at Samaritan Hospital.
