Obituary of Brooke Davis Hauf
BROOKE DAVIS HAUF, born on July 6, 1941, went Home and was greeted by Her Heavenly FATHER and His SON at age 84 on November 11, 2025.
Her passing, while unexpected, was peaceful and in loving company. She leaves many amazing memories with friends and neighbors.
Born in Newburgh, NY, moving to Albany at a young age, she spent the rest of her life in the Capital District. She is a graduate of Academy of the Holy Names, class of 1959. She attended Junior College of Albany (JCA) where she met John N. Hauf, whom she married on May 28th, 1960.
Brooke’s defining characteristic was her unwavering faith. Her faith carried her through many years of joy and happiness as well as the inevitable challenges that we all encounter from time to time. She was well on her way to completing a goal of completing the Bible from cover to cover, which she committed to on January 1st, 2025.
She always said, “I have had the most important job of all”. Being a wife to John N. and a mother to Jacqueline Anne and John W. was truly the joy of her life. Once her children were grown, she entered into a different level of caregiving with the same love and commitment that she bestowed upon her own family. With her 20 plus year commitment to child care, generations of families were blessed with her God-given qualities. The children that she cared for during these years still consider her family to this day.
Brooke may have missed her opportunity to become a Rockette… but she always prioritized health and fitness. She was a regular at Aerobics classes and insisted on dragging John to the gym at Sunnyview at least twice a week, and as recently as last Thursday.
She leaves in her wake her daughter Jacqueline Anne Hauf, son John William Hauf (Laurie), granddaughter Jamie Lynn Ann Biello (Tim), her great-grandchildren Finnegan Daniel and Evelyn Ann, as well as her grandson, Matthew Brian Farry (Bridget). With her love for animals, it only feels appropriate to also mention the numerous four legged friends that will never forget her.
A celebration of life will be held at Loudonville Community Church, 374 Loudon Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 on Saturday, November 15th, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Capital City Rescue Mission at http://give.capitalcityrescuemission.org
