NASH, MAUREEN D. MURRAY

On January 15, 2026 Jesus sent his angels to bring Maureen D. Nash home. Maureen was born on 2/26/43 to the late Genevieve Archambault Murray and Frank J. Murray of Cohoes, NY.

A graduate of the former Keveny Memorial Academy of Cohoes, she pursued a 32 yr. career as a floral designer and won many awards including some for her specialty in wedding design.  While living for 11 yrs. in California, she and her husband owned and operated Downey Chapel Florist.

Her fun loving nature led her to become a professional clown with the group “Clowns-A-Go-Go”.  She and the group spent many hours visiting children in the hospitals, won awards for the many parades she was in, and was the clown for all children’s activities at the Huntington Park Elks Lodge #1415.

Upon returning to Latham in 1976 she worked for several florists and was Manager of the floral dept of Price Chopper, East Greenbush.

Maureen was also a very avid hockey fan; she belonged to the Adirondack Booster Club, went on bus trips and even took in some of the players for home cooked meals. Her several cats even knew when it was hockey season, especially when the Detroit Red Wings were playing. They’d all watch and expect the cheers and boos. She was also a member of The Verdoy Ladies Auxiliary for 5 yrs.

Maureen married the love of her life, Rick, in 1963 & spent 59 yrs. loving and sharing every moment God gave them, he also blessed her with two beautiful children’ Jacqueline (Tom) Hawkins and Darrin (Alice Baker) Nash, one granddaughter Kaylee (Chris) Koch and two great granddaughters Sophia and Maygen.

She is survived by her sisters Geraldine Murray, San Pedro CA, and Anne Morrighan of Tempe, AZ, and her Brother James (Kathy) Murray of Shalimar FL, and three nieces, Kim, Robin & Colleen.
