Obituary of Diane Margaret Estrada

Diane Margaret Estrada, nee Jinks, 81 of Clifton Park, NY, and formerly of North Reading, MA, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2026. She was the devoted wife of Luis Estrada.

Diane was born on February 17, 1944, in Gloversville, NY and was the daughter of the late Douglas and Sophia Jinks. She graduated from Gloversville High School and then went on to study cosmetology in Schenectady, NY to be a licensed hairdresser. 

She worked as a hairdresser in Gloversville until she became a full time mother and homemaker. Being a mother was her most prized accomplishment. As a child she always loved babies and children. She “mothered” her brothers and was a babysitter for the neighbors’ children.

Diane liked to craft, cook, and bake. No one could make a sandwich or chocolate cake like Diane. She was witty and funny. She sang when she was happy, many times making up her own lyrics and tunes, and loved to dance. She had many colloquialisms that her children termed “Diane-isms.” 

In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children, Juanita Estrada and Jim Vannoy of Agawam, MA, Christopher and Victoria Estrada of Clifton Park, NY, and David and Heidi Estrada of Weston, MA, and her five grandchildren, Gabriel, Nicholas, Samuel, Sophia, and Lilah.

Diane also leaves her two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Nancy Jinks of Chicago, IL and Daryl and Sharon Jinks of Gloversville, NY along with many nieces and nephews.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Sophia Jinks, her twin brother, Danny Jinks and eldest brother, Douglas Jinks.

A celebration of life for Diane will be held at a later date.
