Marta E. Warner Adkison, also known as Marty, 75, of Troy, beloved wife of the late William H. Adkison peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Muriel Linendoll Warner and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Mrs. Adkison retired from the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board in Menands after having been a dedicated employee of New York State for 25 years. After retiring from the state she also worked multiple years at RPI, Russell Sage, and Siena Colleges.

Marty enjoyed cooking and was known for her chocolate chip cookies, but what she loved the most was spending time and traveling with her family. She was very generous and donated to many charities and causes.

Some of her hobbies included bowling, gardening, dancing, sewing and ceramics.

Devoted mother of Amanda K. Adkison (Randy Sousie) and Jennifer E. Burns (Jessie Broderick) and mother-in-law of the late John Burns. A sister to Mark Warner, Matt Warner (Deborah Anderson Warner), Mitchell Warner, Michele Warner, Mary Jo Warner Murley (Dave Murley), Margaret Warner Burdick (Bob Burdick), and Monique Warner Burdick (Kevin Burdick). Cherished grandmother of Jordan, Kayde, Kaytiana, Jaden, Brodie, and Logan. An adored great grandmother of Kayleyna, Kayleesi, and Roman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Marty’s wishes, there will not be any public funeral services.

Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Samaritan Hospital Palliative/Comfort Care staff for their support and care as well as to the Eddy Visiting Nurse & Rehab Association.

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to a charity of your own choice, in memory of Marta E. Adkison.
