Susan A. Duncan Obituary
Susan Alda Meissner Duncan, 77, of Lansingburgh, beloved wife for over 54 years to Maurice K. “Moe” Duncan, passed away after taking ill while travelling on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia.
Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Anne Marie Finley Meissner. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, Class of 1967 and completed her education at Hudson Valley Community College.
Mrs. Duncan was a dedicated mother and wife. She enjoyed singing, gardening, travelling, camping and most of all, taking care of her husband and sons.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Waterford and had formerly been a member at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lansingburgh.
Beloved high school sweetheart and wife to Maurice “Moe” Duncan, devoted mother of Mark (Amy) Duncan, Michael (Katie) Duncan and Matthew (Michele) Duncan, cherished grandmother of Brenden Duncan, Alaine (Lincoln) Haynie, Julia, Cole, Emma, Jackson, Madelyn and Kelly Duncan, sister of Elizabeth (late, Bruce) Poillon, Carol (William) Crowley, Ann (Terry) Wihtcher, William “Bill” (Linda) Meissner, Gail (late, Lloyd) Schillinger, Paul (late, Judy) Schantz and the late John Schantz, also survived by many nieces, nephews, their families and members of the extended members of the Duncan family.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc, 565 Fourth avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 for Calling Hours on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and to for the Funeral Service which will begin there at 1:00 p.m.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Grace Episcopal Church, 34 Third Street, Waterford, NY 12188, in memory of Susan Duncan.
