Geraldine A. "Jerry" Ratigan Obituary
Geraldine A. Nadeau Ratigan, 87, of Lansingburgh, beloved wife of the late Robert Ratigan, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Born in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Nadeau and the late Anna Gertrude Cunningham Hicks and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mrs. Ratigan had been a Waitress at the former Mac’s Seafood Restaurant in Cohoes. She was also a dedicated homemaker.
Geraldine was a devoted member of Brunswick Baptist Church. The church was a huge part of her life and she made many cherished friends there. She enjoyed participating in and hosting many bible study groups at the church and in her home.
She loved books, theater, her cats and movies.
Her children and grandchildren were a great source of pride for her and she would go above and beyond to be a help to them or share a kind word. Friends and family were truly blessed to be a part of her inner circle.
Cherished mother of Gerri Ratigan, Kelley (Charles) Foley, Robert (Katie Ryan) Ratigan, Jr. and the late Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Ratigan, adored grandmother of Shannon (Brendan) Farley, Ericka Foley, Nick (Rachel Waworuntu) Borden, Lee Borden and Jaxon Ratigan, proud great grandmother of Jake Farley, sister of the late Ronald Nadeau, and also survived by her sister-in-law Sue.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Visitation and to the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Mrs. Ratigan’s family would like to offer their most sincere gratitude to the staff at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy and their wonderful hospice program for their exemplary and loving care. Many a staff member took the time to know her and expressed their love to her and to our family. We will be forever grateful.
