Obituary of Ann M. Evans
Ann M. Evans (née Robert), 68, beloved wife for 46 years of Richard J. Evans, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Born in Potsdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Marshal S. Robert, Jr. and Eileen E. Robert (née Baynes). Ann graduated from Norwood-Norfolk High School, studied at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam, and earned her Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
For 32 fulfilling years, she worked in the microbiology lab at Albany Medical Center Hospital as a medical researcher.
Ann was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park where she was instrumental in founding and coordinating the Community Garden and Soup Kitchen, a predecessor of the Cohoes Community Meal. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and explore new places across the country with her family, and was an accomplished cook renowned for her baking.
Beloved wife of Rich, devoted mother of Zachary Robert Evans (Matthew Lasnoski), dear sister of James M. (Delva) Robert, is also survived by loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park, Center Rd. Clifton Park NY 12065.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Edward’s Church.
Regardless of vaccination status, all attendees are asked to wear facial coverings.
Interment will be held in Jonesville Cemetery on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
Ann’s family would like to offer their most sincere thanks to the St. Peter’s Hospital Nursing Staff for their loving comfort and care and for being the angels that they are.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes you to make memorial contributions to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hop on Home Rabbit Sanctuary, Inc., or St. Peter’s Hospital, in memory of Ann M. Evans.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, New York 12065.
