On September 15, 2016, at 2:16 p.m., Sidney A. Carraway passed from time to eternity from a heart condition while being treated at Albany Medical Center. Sidney was born on May 31, 1956, to Edward and the late Evelyn Carraway of Schenectady, New York. He began employment working at GE and O.D. Heck in Schenectady. Sidney also worked for many years at Redemption Christian Academy as a fundraiser. He was an active member of Redemption Church of Christ until he became ill. Sidney is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Dorothea, his son Michael, brother James Carraway (Ruby), sister Sharon Sawin (George), brother Mark Carraway (Mary), brother Paul Carraway, sister Penysa Donley (John), Elder John Carraway (Patricia), brother Jeffery Carraway (Adrena), brother Michael Carraway (Janine), and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. A special thanks to our Redemption Church family, Elder John Windley, relatives, and friends for their prayers, condolences, and support. Services will be held at Redemption Church at 1511 Sixth Avenue, Watervliet, New York. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. after which service will begin. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Afterwards, the repast for the family will be held at the Pathfinder
