Obituary of Johnny L. Gaston, Sr.

Johnny L. Gaston, Sr.,50, of Oakwood Blvd., passed on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in Albany, NY, he was the son of Josephine Gaston and the late Richard Steele. He was a graduate of Albany High School and received his Associates Degree in Technology from ITT Tech. Johnny was a member of the 1984 Albany High School Championship Basketball Team. Johnny was dedicated to his wife and sons, they were his everything. He loved basketball and was an avid car enthusiast. Beloved husband of Shenelle Williams Gaston whom he married on July 16, 2000, devoted father of Johnny Gaston Jr., and Jayson Gaston and the late Jayden Gaston. Special cousin of Christopher Gaston; nephew of Marie, Henrietta and Betty Gaston. Numerous cousins and a host of extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Clifton Park Center Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Johnny's memory to the March of Dimes, N.E.N.Y.
