Madelyn B. “Midge” Day, 99, of Speigletown, beloved wife of the late Hartwell S. “Pee Wee” Day, peacefully entered into eternal life at home on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

 

Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace Beaureguard Barrett and was a graduate of Catholic High School in Bronx and the Conservatory of Music in 1939.

 

Mrs. Day was a Secretary of Quality Control at the Watervliet Arsenal for 33 years.

 

Midge was a devoted communicant of Transfiguration Parish. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and going to the Racino, was an avid New York Mets fan, member of the Speigletown Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and Hoosick Valley Seniors. Midge enjoyed music, dancing and playing the organ. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved socializing with her many friends and Wednesday night ladies. She had a charitable heart and was a committed long time donor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

Devoted mother of Robert (Janice “Jan”) Day of Latham and the late Barbara Day Cloutier; sister of the late, William Barrett; cherished grandmother of Amy (Gregg) Slate, Mandy (Shaun) Tennity, Jason (Elizabeth) Ring, the Sedlak’s and Cloutier’s, great grandmother of Cullen, Logan, Will, Sophie, Kayleigh, Matt and Ryan, also survived by her dear friend Rose Cosgrove and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 thence to Transfiguration Parish (formerly St. Bonaventure’s Church in Speigletown) 50 Hillview Dr., Troy, NY 12182 where at 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated and livestreamed at 09:55 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada) by joining the link below
