Obituary of Anita M. O'Connell Verklas

Anita M. O’Connell-Verklas, 62, of Cohoes, peacefully entered into eternal life with her loving and caring daughter Kimberly at her side at home on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anita Dillon O’Connell and was a graduate of Keveny Academy in Cohoes.

Anita was a Crew Member at Wendy’s Restaurant in Latham. Devoted mother of twins; Kimberly (Justin) Collins and Timothy Verklas and Robert Verklas, sister of Daniel (late, June) O’Connell and the late Brian O’Connell, cherished grandmother of Aryianna Collins and Devyn Collins, also survived by nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182 and to her Rite of Christian Burial Service which will be held that evening in the funeral home at 6:00 p.m.

Anita’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for their unending love, care and support provided to Anita and her family over the years to Dr. Donna Heffernan, Stephanie Carpenter and Renee Cameron, who were her Angels here on earth.

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America National Headquarters, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034, in memory of Anita M. Verklas.
