Obituary of Richard F. Brady
Richard F. Brady “Dick” 85, of Clifton Park and formerly of Troy, beloved husband of the late Wanda F. Scensny Brady, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Thomas and Hortense Nash Brady and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Montana State College and Union College. Richard completed his 6-year commitment to the 1st Brigade, 27th Armored Division of the NYS National Guard in March 1967.
Mr. Brady retired in 1999 after a dedicated career with the New York State Department of Transportation where he was an Engineer. He helped to build many of the roads and bridges in NYS throughout his 40 year career. In retirement, He continued to use his knowledge and expertise for another 10 years as a consultant to construction companies in the Capital District.
Richard was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Troy and Cohoes.
Richard is survived by his loving son Thomas J. Brady of Clifton Park, His siblings,
brother of Ann (Charles) Barringer, Thomas J. Brady (the late Julia Lesson) and the late Barbara Marshall (the late, B.J. Mackey) and the late Ruth B. Corcoran, who is survived by her husband John Corcoran, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park followed by interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Waterford.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Mr. Brady’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for helping to transport Richard back to his home state. As well as the staff at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park, New York .for their extraordinary care throughout his residency as well as their empathy and compassion as Richard transitioned into eternal life.
