Dearest Mary,
It has been almost 4 weeks since you sat on my porch for 1 of our usual 2x a week spontaneous (hours long) "chats"
Living so close to each other- was perfect for whenever either of us just needed to escape for a bit, vent, cry or laugh at many of our shared memories going back 40+ years
Interesting how we had many differences of opinion on various topics yet each of us listened to each intently and fully respected the other's view-
The last few years have been very difficult for you and yet you always amazed me with your "get-up-and-do" attitude: planning activities/get togethers with your friends. I so admired your ability to compartmentalize your physical/emotional pain in order to connect- something I will definitely try to emulate from now on
You were so blessed to have Tim- he was so in love with you as well as liking, loving you as a friend, person and wife. I was often amazed at ALL he did for you- it is a rarity that a husband could fill so many rolls...
You were blessed to have 3 beautiful daughters and you and Tim made sure that they have the best childhood, the best education, unconditional love of their choices and the knowledge that though they were adults now- they would ALWAYS be your little girls
I envied your complete trust in the Lord- even when the pain you were feeling was almost unbearable. Despite your physical issues- you could always put on a smile for anyone who needed it- truly the Christian walk-
I feel pretty befuddled over what has transpired in the last few weeks- and especially the news of your passing- I did not get to see you in the hospital- and perhaps especially because of that- it just doesn't seem possible that you are no longer just around the corner- ready to stop by...
I do know that you are beyond happy being with Jesus now- and I can see you laughing your head off at finding out the many mysteries of YOUR life as well as being overcome with ALL of God's Creation. You are probably saying "wow" endlessly at now understanding the purpose of ALL YOU EXPERIENCED!
You will be truly missed my dear friend- thank you for all the beams of light you brought- to me and to all that were lucky enough to know you-
Save some of those rainbow colored jello shots for the rest of us-
Huge Hugs!!!

We are stunned to just learn of Mary’s passing. I worked with Mary for many years at the State Public Service Commission. A truly gifted professional in every way. The office clicked because of her attention to detail. She intuitively knew what made our office run smoothly. More importantly, Mary was such a wonderful human being, always bringing joy to our days. I remember so well arriving at our office one morning in the summer of 1985 and Mary was soooooooo excited about seeing "Back to the Future." I had not heard about it, but in her unmatchable vibrancy she exclaimed, “Ed, you’ve got to take the kids to see this movie.” Mary proceeded to tell me all about it. We did indeed take our daughters that next weekend, and to this very day, "Back to the Future" is a touchstone of our families’ lives! All because of Mary. In fact, our now-adult daughter displays in her office in NYC a movie poster of the flick signed by its stars. Mary touched everyone’s life with the same energy and compassion that she shared with us at the Commission. Indeed, Tim was the love of Mary’s life, and she was always so proud of their life together and of the family they created together. Truly one of God’s gifts to humanity. Our hearts go out to Tim and their daughters and families. May God Bless. – Ed Collins

Please accept my sincere condolences. I worked with Mary many years ago at the PSC. She always a had a smile and loving way. When I remember our times together an easy smile crosses my face. I know that Mary is now resting with the Lord for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rest in peace Mary!

Dear Tim and family there are really no words to say of the great loss that you are suffering. Mary was as beautiful outside as she was inside .We had alot of laughs and some tears. Mary introduced us to many special people. Mary's faith was inspiring and her soul was immensely gorgeous. Pool time won't be the same as when you were laughing on your float. When you arrived in heaven the angels said come on in Mary, tonight is kinda special. We love you and miss you .Always my friend.

Mary was my very best friend since we were 19 years old. We met at the State and became fast friends. I am so blessed to have had her in my life since, through every chapter of my life. She’s always been my go-to, and I am truly lost without her.
Mary was a hoot. She had such a fun personality. She was goofy and sweet, generous and forgiving. We had the times of our lives together. She was a gem.
I know she is with Jesus and I will see her again, but the pain I feel at losing her here on this earth is unbearable. I always pictured us together as old ladies on our scooters looking fabulous. She always said, “Never surrender!!”
Rodger Ram, my lifelong friend, you beautiful soul, my heart aches to talk to you. I have so much to tell you!! I just want to sit in the hot tub and talk about everything like we always loved to do. I want to drink green Jell-O shots on St Patrick’s Day and dress up for Halloween. Nothing will ever be the same without you. I love you so much and I will miss you every single day of my life.
Until we meet in Heaven!! Warm up the mic! We will sing with the angels. Hey, in Heaven we will probably sound a lot better. Lol!! Love you you crazy girl. Bestenberg of all Bestenberg kind.
