Obituary of Michele Heffern

Please share a memory of Michele to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michele Heffern, 54, of Vischer Ferry Rd died on Thursday August 18, 2022 as the result of a auto pedestrian accident.  She was born on Sept. 27, 1967 in Billerica, MA and was the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Towne Cook.  Michele was the beloved wife of William Heffern whom she married on July 8, 2006.  Her passion for her family, friends, animals, and life was the driving force of how she lived each day. Her passion for her family led her to love five children, become the family historian and connect a lifetime of extended family. Her passion for friends made her a pillar of strength to those closest to her and welcoming heart to those she had just met. Her love of animals inspired her to own a pet-sitting company, Muttley Crew LLC., where she was able to extend her love to so many pets in this community. It also led to helping found Protect & Vest NYK9s Inc. where she was able to help raise funds to buy vests for K9s in law enforcement. Her passion for life led her on every adventure that crossed her path, from paranormal investigations to helping search for missing dogs. There was no person she would not help, no path she would not hike, no song she would not dance to and no photo she left untaken. She lived fully in every moment with every person she met.

In addition to her husband William, Michele is survived by her devoted children, Edward J. (Danielle) Heffern, William H. Heffern, Lacey Michele (Ryan) Nilsen, Alex B. (Kaylee) Heffern and Jessica M. Jerome; dear sister of Timothy D. (Diane) Cook and Martin (Carol) Cook; cherished grandmother of Lucas A. and Leo J. Heffern; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
