Obituary of Charles F. Best, Sr.

Charles F. Best, Sr., “Chuck” 72, of Lansingburgh, NY, passed away on May 31, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.

Chuck was born in Cohoes, NY on March 10, 1951 to William Best, II and Mary (Volcek) Best. He graduated from Catholic Central High School.

Chuck retired after many years at Applied Robotics where he worked as a machinist.

He was loved by all who were close to him and in return he loved those in his life very deeply. He had an immeasurable strength; Chuck was a true force of nature and a quiet soul. A loving father of two, he was a fixer of all things and believed nothing was worth doing unless it was done right.

He loved baseball, the Yankees being his favorite team, even in his last days it brought him peace. A true fisherman at heart, he dreamed of being well enough for one more trip to the lake with a rod and reel.  He was surrounded by family in his last days and will be thought of often with deep affection. His loss is beyond measure, but he will live on in our hearts forever.

Chuck is survived by his Daughter Tiffany Best (Mark Lewis), Son Charles Best (Amanda Best), Step-daughter Kelly Ryan, Siblings Christine Poplaski, William Best, III, Elizabeth Gressler and Raymond Best and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family will welcome all relatives and friends on Saturday, June 24^th between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a Celebration of life at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home Inc. 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy NY 12182. Please park across the street.

A Funeral Servie will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home that afternoon.
