Dick and I were neighbors for many years. When he took his walks if I was outside he d always stop and talk. We developed a close friendship and Dick shared his unending wisdom and I would learn so much from him I will miss him terribly and was so relieved that his biggest wish came true. He never had to go into a nursing home ! His wonderful family made sure that didn’t happen. Dick was always smiling and he was optimistic about everything Love yu my friend may yu Rest In Peace. Yu will never be forgotten yu re in my heart forever ❤️

I knew Dick from my restaurant days at Olde Dater Tavern. He and his family were great customers, always having a good time and enjoying the food. The entire Bobear family was always very supportive and kind to me. I closed the restaurant over 20 years ago, but Dick and I still sent Christmas cards every year (his card was always the first to arrive in my mailbox, I will miss that…) He always included a note with family news and ODT memories, and he always asked after my family, remembering things I’d written from the prior Christmas. Such a smart, caring, and gentle man. I’m grateful to have kept this small connection with Dick all these years. A toast to you, Dick. Celebrating your long life. “ Uncle” Dick was always the most interesting person in the room. I’ll remember him for his love of being at family gatherings, his enjoyment of good conversation & his “sweet tooth.” Such a great man with awesome credentials who was unassuming and genuine.
