JOHN W. KOSIER
John “Jack” W. Kosier, 86, of Clifton Park, beloved husband for 57 years to Millicent “Millie” (Bernard) Kosier, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, November 17, 2023, from the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late John J. and Stella (Cherubin) Kosier. Jack was a graduate of Niagara University. He pursued an advanced degree in Chemistry at Syracuse University. It is the friendships he developed at Niagara that would shape his life's path. The wedding of Jack's college roommate, Gerard Ryan, to Barbara marked a turning point. It was there that Jack crossed paths with Millie, Barbara's college roommate. This serendipitous encounter marked the beginning of their lifelong journey together.
Jack thrived in social gatherings, big and small, reveling in the company of others. He greeted everyone with "Hello, Friend." He possessed a remarkable ability to forge connections effortlessly, delighting in engaging conversations and swiftly moving from acquaintance to friend to all who crossed his path. His welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Jack was an enthusiast of baseball, football, and also the thrilling atmosphere of the track at Saratoga Race Course. He found joy in spending summer nights at SPAC and Tanglewood. He loved the simple pleasure of driving. When freedom of the open road beckoned to him, he piled the family in the station wagon and took road trips all over the Northeast. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time traveling nationally and internationally.
His faith was a very important part of his life, and he was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Clifton Park. Jack served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves from 1959 to 1968. Mr. Kosier was self-employed as a financial advisor until he retired in 2019.
Beloved husband to Millie, devoted father of Gregory Kosier (Yun Han) of Los Angeles, CA, Allison Faul (David) of Clifton Park, NY, Andrea DeBow (Brooks) of Saratoga Springs, NY and Nadine Kosier (Gene Hackett) of Clifton Park, NY, cherished grandfather of Anderson, Sawyer, Emerson, Bennett, Oliver, Graham and Aiden, loving brother of Marianne “Nan” Canfield (late, Charles), also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
