I didn't know Olivia very well, but we rode the same school bus for practically our entire time attending Shenendehowa High School. She was always a kind person who was welcoming to conversation even though we weren't necessarily in the same social circles.
The fact that she exceled in both academics and athletics is not surprising. Neither is the fact that she pursued a career where she could help others.

Eulogy for Olivia 6/24/24
In this brief life, if we are lucky, we get to love one another, to share our hopes and dreams; to share a few precious moments in the light of happiness and peace.
We were all lucky to have had those moments with Olivia - her smile lit the room and went from her head to her toes, and her intentions were always genuine, her heart on her sleeve.
I was lucky, she was my friend.
She strove to make a positive impact on everyone she met and she did. - the outpouring to the Jarems has been incredible.
Olivia was a fighter. She fought for herself, for her sanity, and mostly for her Harper. - every second of every day she fought to be here. I will remember Olivia as the fiercest of warriors with a heart and soul too gentle and fragile for this world.
Olivia, Your fight is over, may you rest now and forever in peace and light, until we meet again.
My love goes out to you all, cherish your memories and remember, we were the lucky ones.

To Olivia's family, and to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her, please accept my deepest condolences. While Olivia and I did not keep in touch after high school, I often think about her, and will always remember her fondly. I learned so much from her. She was a gifted writer and always provided thoughtful feedback to help my writing. I remember her vividly. In Mr. Marvin's class, she and I did a report on Eric Hoffer, The Longshoreman Philosopher. The following year, we sat next to each other in Ms. Jacques' AP English class. She shared with me that her mother named her Olivia after walking among a grove of olive trees. I hope that Olivia's magical spirit is celebrated and that her daughter and family will carry her spirit with them every day. I know I will.

Dear Family, I wish I had the words to comfort you. Olivia was a special soul, her quiet disposition and inspiring energy made those around her feel comfortable. I met Olivia at the gym and we instantly connected. Then she asked if I could mentor her in the Special Ed department at Ballston Spa and it was an honor. The kids loved her and she knew how to manage them and connect with them, especially the difficult ones. I will miss her and my heart aches for all of you. I will pray you feel the Lord's comfort. I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Olivia. Liv. Juice. I have the fondest and happiest memories growing up with her. She was a constant and true friend throughout my childhood and such a beautiful person. She was kind, thoughtful, funny, passionate, athletic, smart, and loyal. We connected immediately in 6th grade, taught each other how to play lacrosse, shared and shaped countless memories through high school together. I have always remembered our experiences together with a smile and will continue to do so.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Olivia's passing. She was a great friend of mine for 20 years, we worked together at Salty's, attended the same classes at U Albany, and shared so many life experiences together. We always looked to one another for support when we needed it no matter how much time had passed. Our daughters played together sometimes, and we would share our journeys of motherhood with one another. She was an amazing person and I will think of her often in such a bright light. She was truly one of the most kind, intelligent, beautiful souls I have ever met and she will be missed tremendously. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and loved ones at this time. Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
I am not there,
I did not die.

Our family is heartbroken by the news of this tragedy. We have been blessed in so many ways by Hanshi Jarem and our Budokai Family. Olivia and Harper (and, of course, Owen and Margie) were and will always be held in the same esteem.
As so many have commented here, speaking with Olivia revealed an incredibly smart and kind soul that instantly made you recognize that she was Hanshi’s daughter.
We pray that the Jarem family may find some comfort in the wonderful memories of their life with Olivia and the outpouring of love from all that were blessed to know her.
