Obituary of Christopher J. Strope
Christopher J. Strope, 45, a lifelong resident of Troy, beloved husband of Spring M. Marriner Strope, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital following lengthy health complications.
Born and educated in Troy, New York, Christopher was the son of the late Albert Strope, Sr. and Annina Dennison Strope Watson. Chris completed his education at Troy High School.
Christopher was self employed.
He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved music and in particular Country Music, was super-sarcastic and very witty, but most of all loved spending time with his kids playing games, doing puzzles and watching movies.
Beloved husband of Spring who he married on August 30, 2008, devoted father of twins; Letah and Zoey Strope, Colby Strope, Kataleena Strope and Heavenly Faith Strope and dear stepfather of Robert Genier, David Genier, Lacey Genier and the late Rennae Genier, loving brother of Helen Baker, Albert Strope, III, Debra Holman, Annina Strope and the late Antoinette “Toni” Strope, stepbrother of Michael Watson, cherished grandfather of Michael Hansen, Vanessa Genier, Kaylahani Tracey, step grandfather of Jayden Syrell and Elijah Tracey, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and to the Prayer Service offered at 4:00 p.m. that day all in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
