Obituary of Helene Nancy Sullivan

Helene Nancy Sullivan, 80, of W. Ajo Way in Tucson and former Lansingburgh resident died on Saturday Sept. 9, 2017 at her residence.  She was born Troy, NY on March 20, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth Broderick Herbert.  Helene was a longtime Lansingburgh resident and moved to Tucson a few years ago.  She retired from the Rensselaer County Dept. of Motor Vehicles where she had been a clerk for a number of years.  She had been a member of the Uncle Sam Parade Committee, a member of the Uncle Sam Monument Committee, whose efforts achieved the placement of his statue in downtown Troy.  She was active in the Rensselaer County Republican Committee and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.  Helene was the beloved wife of the late John L. Sullivan, who died in 2002.

She is the mother of John L. (Holly) Sullivan of Wynantskill; cherished grandmother of  Kieran, Aidan and Ronan Sullivan; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday October 20, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church,   corner of 115th. Street & 4th. Avenue in Lansingburgh.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY
