Obituary of Patrick J. Esposito

Patrick J. Esposito, 64, of Troy, died peacefully at the home of his loving sister and devoted caregiver, Josephine Nicholas Esposito on October 6, 2016. Born in Troy, he is the beloved son of Catherine Esposito and the late Paul J. Esposito. Pat was educated in St. Anthony's School and LaSalle Institute, Class of 1970, where he excelled in Football. "Espo" was also a Golden Gloves prizefighter and excelled at any sport he was involved with. He was an excellent Poker player who enjoyed local and National Tournaments as well as horse handicapping. An avid outdoorsman, Pat loved fishing and hunting. He was a self taught gardener, who loved to plant perennials and numerous fruit trees on his expansive property, which was admired by all. In Pat's younger years, he was known throughout the area for tending bar at numerous establishments. Survivors besides Patrick's mother and sister, include his brother-in-law Michael Nicholas, loving niece; Kyla Rea Nicholas, loving nephew; Mikel Nicholas, Grand-niece; Bria Rea. He is the loving nephew of Josephine Smith, Emma Valenti and Liz DiMaria, Cherished cousin of John (Kyra) Ostwald and sons Nicholas and Jackson and Cal (Mark) Schlesinger and daughter Crystal (Ken) Swinton and Patrick (Vincenza) Zucaro. Pat also leaves many cousins, as well as 35 cousins in the Esposito family, which included his loyal cousin, the late Louis Scarmozza, as well as many lifelong friends and his cat Cinnamon. A special thank you to the numerous friends and family for their support throughout Pat's illness. Pat's family would like you to join them at The Franklin Terrace, 126 Campbell Ave, Troy, NY 12180 for a visitation on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. which will be followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Celebration, Remembrance and Memorial Service to honor his life.
