Janet M. LaPosta, 85, formerly of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, February 12, 2018.

Born in Lansingburgh, Janet was the daughter of the late Earnest McCasland and Marian Connors, and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School beloved wife of nearly 66 years of Michael F. LaPosta, Sr. of Troy, who passed away on May 4, 2016.

Janet was a Senior Account Biller, first for Samaritan Hospital in Troy and then for Penobscot Medical Center in Rockland ME, for a total of 29 years.

An avid New York Yankees fan, Janet was also known as the Pie Lady and appeared on the TV shows: Throw Down with Bobby Flay and Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.

A devoted mother of Michael F. (Cheryl) LaPosta, Jr. of Rockland, ME, Barbara (Michael) Popolizio of Clifton Park, Randy LaPosta of Richmond MA, Gary LaPosta of Wilmington, VT and the late Susan LaPosta.  Her siblings include Milton (Janice) Connors, Frances Lovelett, Mary Jane Connors, John Connors, Robert Connors, and the late William Connors. Janet is also survived by  several grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, New York 12182.
