Matthew E. "Matt" Behan, 60 of Johnsonville, husband of Elizabeth A. "Beth" Hogan Behan of Johnsonville, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Shirlee M. Lovegrove Behan. Matt was a graduate of Tamarac High School, Class of 1973, a September 1985 graduate of the Watervliet Arsenal National Apprenticeship Program and earned his Associates Degree in Industrial Technology Management from Hudson Valley Community College. Matt was employed as an Industrial Specialist at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY. Matt was athletic, enjoyed sports and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing as well as baseball and basketball which he enjoyed participating in leagues at the Watervliet Arsenal in. Matt is survived by his beloved wife Beth, his dear sister; Lynn (Joe) Barton of Johnsonville, his brothers-in-law; Patrick, Michael, Peter and Matthew Hogan and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 thence to Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave in Troy, where at 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to The Nature Conservancy, Adirondack Chapter, 8 Nature Way, Keene Valley, New York 12943, in memory of Matthew E. Behan.
