Obituary of Mary E. Jakala
Mary E. Jakala, 58, of Third Avenue, Lansingburgh, beloved wife of Stephen E. "Steve" Jakala of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Born in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Elizabeth Corrigan Gelina. Mary had been employed at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Albany as a waitress prior to her taking ill.
She enjoyed sun-tanning, her parakeets and had previously been an avid Bingo player.
Beloved wife of Steve, devoted mother of Scott ( Alycia Caristi) Jakala and Bill Hansbury, sister of Robert (Deborah) Gelina, Daniel Gelina, Joseph Gelina, Joyce (John) Rose, Marlene (Bill) Depp, Donna (Larry) Wilkinson and the late Kathy Henning, David Gelina, William Gelina, James Gelina, Stephen Gelina, John Gelina and Michael Gelina; also survived by one grandson Aaron Hansbury, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth avenue, (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
