John (Jack) W. Agansky passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at St Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. He was 69 years of age. Born December 12, 1946, the son of the late John and Ella Agansky of Wharton, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy, of Clifton Park, NY and their two children, son Jason (Heather) Agansky of Clifton Park, NY and daughter Kelly (Curt) Cooper of Lehighton, PA. He is also survived by his brother Gary (Diane) Agansky of Franklin, TN, sisters in law, brothers in law, and many adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins. In 1964 Jack graduated from Morris Hills Regional High School in Rockaway, New Jersey. In the fall of 1964 he entered Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont. Upon graduation as a civil engineer he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Army's Corp of Engineers. He served his country at Ft. Irwin, California and spent his final year in Korea near the DMZ. Following his military service he went to work for the State of New York Public Service Commission where he met his wife Kathy. They married on May 19, 1973. They built their home in Clifton Park and moved in on their first anniversary. In 1975 they were blessed with a son Jason and 2 years later with a daughter Kelly. Jack worked for the State of NY for over 35 years. Almost immediately after his retirement he went back to work part time as a school bus driver for Shenendehowa schools. He loved interacting with the kids and drove for about another decade. Jack was an amazing family man, a loyal friend to many, and loved so many things and activities. Earlier in his life he was a pilot and took Kathy flying on many occasions. He loved going out on his boat to fish or just take a relaxing cruise. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Mets, and Duke Basketball. He was a proud NRA member. He loved several cats of his own over the years and always cared for other family pets. He enjoyed coaching his daughter in Miss Shen softball for many years, and talking stocks and current events with his son. He loved taking trips to Hawaii, Florida, Cape Cod, and all over on cruise ships, and also loved feeding his birds and squirrels in the yard. Calling hours will be from 4-8pm Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Memorial Mass will be held at 9am Wednesday at St. Mary's Church in Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd, Waterford, NY. Interment with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H.
