Obituary of Theresa Lynn Butler

     Theresa Butler of Ilion passed away on the morning of Friday October 19th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. Theresa was born in Oneida, New York on March 15, 1968 to parents, Peter Hewitt and Kathleen (Snell) of Verona. She was a member of the VVS class of 1986, and later went on to become a Licenced Practical Nurse. Theresa was a kind-hearted and generous member of the community best known for her scarves and hats that she would make and later donate to children in need. She spent much of her time babysitting multiple children in the area who became like a secondary family as well as working for years with the music boosters for her daughter’s school.

     Theresa was predeceased by her mother and is survived by her only daughter, Amelia Butler; her father, Peter Hewitt; siblings, Pamela Smith, Michael Hewitt, Patricia Pignetti, and Christine Hewitt; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, William, Stephanie, Rebecca, Niklas, Bethany, and Caleb; and grandnephews, Konnor, Brady, and Hunter.

     A memorial service will be held to honor Theresa’s memory on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on East Main Street in Verona, New York.

  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or the American Kidney Foundation; organizations near and dear to Theresa’s heart (and kidney).
