Obituary of Rita M. Brown

Rita M. Brown, 95, former longtime resident of Round Lake, NY died on Wed. Nov. 9, 2016 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded in the loving care of her family. She was born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1920 in Plattsburgh, NY and was the daughter of the late John Baptiste and Flora Gonyea Oshier. She was a graduate of Morrisonville High School in Morrisonville, NY and was the beloved wife of the late James R. Brown, who died on Mar. 16, 1996. They were married on July 5, 1941. Rita retired from Aetna Casualty Insurance Co. in Albany as a claims specialist after many years of service. She was a faithful and active member of the Round Lake United Methodist Church. She is the devoted mother of Ronald, deceased (Yuko), Arthur, deceased (Pam), Harriet (Nicky) Naushahi of Cohoes, Carol Mercier of Troy and Janice Sawicki of Titusville, FL; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of her siblings. Funeral will be held Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Round Lake United Methodist Church. Relative and friends are invited and may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Eastline Cemetery in Round Lake.
