Obituary of Arthur Angelo Spada

     Arthur Angelo Spada, 88, of New Castle Road died on Tuesday April 23, 2019 after a prolonged illness.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 24, 1930 and was educated in the New York City School system.  He was a graduate of  Hudson Valley Community College in Troy with his associates degree in Culinary Arts.  He was a member of local 294 in Albany having worked in the construction field for over 30 years.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict having honorably served from 1951-1955.  He was an active member of Halfmoon American Legion Post  #1450.

     He is the beloved husband of  Shirley Frances Palmer Spada, whom he married on November 20, 1955.  He is the devoted father of Lou Anne Spada of Beaufort, SC, Lynn Marie (William) Spada Thompson of  Fairfax, VA, Mary Jo (Erika Watson) Spada of Santa Cruz, CA, Theresa Jean (Nick) Pappas of Waterford, NY and Kim Elisa (David) Spada Gibson of San Antonio, TX; brother of Mickey LaGrego, Ponnie Harre and the late Pauline Krug, Joseph M. Spada and Mimi Perret; cherished grandfather of Tiffany Young, Erin Connors and Sean Watson; great grandfather of Nicklas Whitten; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

     Calling hours will be from 5-7 pm Sunday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

     A celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday in the funeral home.
