Obituary of Barbara Ann Richards

Barbara Ann Richards, 77, of Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

Born and educated in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William Fogarty, Sr. and the late Julia Burgess Fogarty Ryan and was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Richards who passed away on July 5, 1998.

Barbara had resided in Louisiana for some time and returned to reside in Troy where she was born and raised. While in Louisiana and after returning to Troy, she had been employed by SUBWAY.

She enjoyed football and rooting on her New Orleans Saints. What she was most passionate about was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Devoted mother of Scott (Robin) Richards of Troy, Steven Richards of Lockport, LA and the late Shawn and Alice K. Richards and also like a mother to Misty Osborne who affectionately called her “Meme”, sister of William J. (Patricia) Fogarty, Sr., Linda (Joe) Huneau, Diane (Mike) O’Donnell, the late Colleen (late, Mickey) Rigney, Thomas (Sue) Ryan, Robert Ryan, Sharon (Fred) Ryan, Steven Ryan, John “Mike” Ryan and Patricia (late, James) Schellenger, also survived by 6 grandchildren, her loving great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, there are no public funeral services.
