Obituary of Royce John Patterson

Royce John Patterson, 95, of Sandy Pointe Drive in Halfmoon passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.  He was born on December 18, 1927 in Schenectady, NY and was the son of the late Watson Patterson and Violet Hewitt Case.  Brother to deceased Watson Wendell Patterson.  Royce was the beloved husband of Doris Jean Lavech Patterson whom he was married to for 75 years.

 

Royce honorably served in the US Navy following World War II.  He had been a technician for GE Waterford for many years.  They raised their family on MacElroy Road in Jonesville, NY and he was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church.  They then retired to Leesburg, FL.  

 

In addition to his beloved wife Doris, Royce is survived by his devoted children; James  Patterson (Barbara) of Ballston  Spa, NY,  Cheryl Alling Agnew of Halfmoon, NY,  Thomas Patterson of Stillwater, NY and the late Michael Patterson (Marcia) of Ontario, CA.  He was lovingly referred to by his 9 cherished grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as “Grandpa Florida” and “Grandpa Doughnuts”.  

 

Funeral services are being held privately for the family from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

 

Interment at a later time will be in Schenectady Memorial Park
