Derek was an awesome guy. I went to school with him and hung out a bunch of times with him as well. Never had anything bad to say about anybody and was truly loved by his friends and family. R.I.P. Bro.

Even though I only knew Derek for a brief while
He was a stand up type of guy always had a smile on his face that would light up the room as he entered . He had no shortages of friends wherever went . He was the type of guy that would literally give you the shirt off his back if needed. If you had a problem he was the guy to bring it to no matter what he was doing he always had time to listen . But he never bestowed his problems on you. He was a man with the heart of gold , no doubt in my mind . There's not enough good things I could say about him , once you locked in a friendship with Derek it was forever. I know that he is still looking down upon us and keeping a spot right beside him for all his known friends , let's just hope he saves enough room all . With that said take a walk outdoors on the first starry night look up to the heavens and you will see a brand new bright and shining star , that my friends will be Derek watching over us , may you Rest In Peace my friend until we meet again.
